This course is a study of the history of American Fundamentalism from the 19th century with its development and influence over American Christianity. It will discuss the leaders, schools, and missionary work. The different meanings of Fundamentalism, its cultural connotation, the strengths and failures of the movement, New Evangelicalism, Neo-orthodoxy, and Liberalism will be studied. Students may learn from this history and discern any theological movement in the coming years based upon the Bible. Prerequisite: EN 102

This class is designed to give the student an understanding of the Levitical system and to see how the seven major feasts and the tabernacle all point to Jesus Christ. The student will also notice how the sacrificial offerings of the Levitical system all prefigure the work of Christ as well. Prerequisite: EN 102

This course is an examination of the canon, text, inspiration, and interpretive data key to understanding the Old Testament. Detail will be given to the authorship, date, theme, liberal criticism, secular background, and historical background of Old Testament Scriptures. Prerequisite: EN 501

This course analyzes different worldviews with which Christians are confronted and provides an apologetic methodology useful in evangelizing people with non-biblical worldviews. Prerequisite: EN 501

This course will study the nature and method of Systematic Theology and the application of a proper Theological method to analyze carefully various theological options on key doctrinal issues. This course provides a foundation for BI 522 and BI 523 where the student will write a summative research paper and defend the final product. Prerequisite: EN 501

This course is designed to give the student a further understanding of ministry through Scriptural counseling. All approaches to problems will be based on biblical principles rather than secular, humanistic reasoning and technique. Prerequisite: EN 501

This course provides an introduction to the fundamentals of basic biblical counseling, emphasizing scriptural prescriptions for man’s physical, mental, and spiritual needs. Prerequisite: None

This biblical counseling course looks at the fundamentals of biblical counseling. The sufficiency of Scripture will be addressed as well as practical application of the principles and precepts of the Word of God. The student will be equipped to use the Bible as the core of their counseling ministry. Prerequisite: None

It will include a study of the techniques to be used to provide biblical counsel to those who are hurting and in need of guidance. This course is designed to help ladies learn how to give biblical counsel to other ladies. This course is designed for any lady preparing for a lifetime of Christian service, as well as those ladies who may not be called to full-time ministry, but desire to be a help in their respective churches. This course addresses topics pertaining to preventative counsel for teenagers and their parents and explores the most effective ways to prepare teens for the more common challenges and transitions of life. The knowledge and skills presented are most relevant for the Christian young adult but are applicable to any teen. Some of the core topics covered in this course include having a biblical perspective in life, making wise decisions, understanding God’s will, and engaging in mature relationships. This biblical counseling course will review many of the psychiatric disorders of our day in light of the Scriptures. Students will be prepared to biblically counsel those individuals that present with a previous psychiatric diagnosis. Prerequisite: EN 102

This biblical counseling course deals with conflict and how it can be resolved through appropriate application of biblical principles. The sufficiency of Scripture will be paramount as the student learns to resolve conflict. Prerequisite: EN 102

This biblical counseling course will look at the subject of depressive and anxiety disorders from a spiritual, psychological and physical standpoint. Students will be prepared to biblically counsel those individuals that have a depressive and/or anxiety problem and point them to the God Who satisfies and comforts. Prerequisite: EN 102

This biblical counseling course will look at the subject of abuse from a spiritual, psychological and physical standpoint. Students will be prepared to biblically counsel those individuals that have caused or suffered abuse and point them to the God Who cares and comforts. Prerequisite: EN 102

This biblical counseling course will review many of the more complicated issues of our day in light of the Scriptures. Students will be equipped to biblically counsel those individual dealing with these challenging issues. Prerequisite: BC 101 and EN 102

This biblical counseling course will look at the divine design for marriage along with proper biblical roles in marriage. It will also address some of the more common issues that married couples face. Students will be equipped to biblically counsel married couples and help them thrive in their marriage. Prerequisite: BC 101 and EN 102

This biblical counseling course will look at the subject of addiction from a spiritual, psychological and physical standpoint. Students will be prepared to biblically counsel those individuals that have an addictive problem and point them to the God Who satisfies. Prerequisite: EN 102

This course will equip the student with the skills of crisis / trauma intervention. Emphasis is placed on crisis / trauma counseling from a biblical perspective. The student will learn how to use the Scriptures and prayer, with the leadership of the Holy Spirit, to appropriately intervene in the crisis / traumatic event presenting to them such as depression, suicide, death, PTSD amongst others. Prerequisite: EN 102

This biblical counseling course will bring together all that the student has learned in previous biblical counseling courses in a practical way. The student will learn appropriate interview and interaction skills in the counseling process. The student will be able to practically apply the principles and precepts of the Scriptures to the situation at hand. Prerequisite: BC 401, BC 402, and EN 102

This is a concentrated introductory course of Koine Greek grammar, vocabulary and syntax. This course is designed to develop a working knowledge of New Testament Greek. Prerequisite: EN 101 with a grade of a “C” or higher, and EN 102

This course is a continuation of BL 301. Special emphasis will be given to the function of case, form, tense, voice, and mood. Some word studies will be done. Prerequisite: BL 301 with a grade of a “C-” or higher

This practical course will enable students to understand the basics of administration in the context of the local New Testament church. Topics include developing a long range strategic plan, staff relations, communications, finance and law. Prerequisite: None

This course explores the central concepts and practices of personal development. This holistic approach to individual growth will outline the input, throughput, and output that a leader can expect from effectiveness in this area. Prerequisite: None

This course is designed to teach students foundational concepts of financial management, accounting, and stewardship within a local church ministry. Prerequisite: None

This practical course will enable students to understand the government requirements for churches regarding laws and legal responsibilities. Topics that will be covered include finance, business operations, contracts, foundations of American law, organizational structures, employee relations and community and global interactions. Legal and ethical considerations in ministry will be highlighted as we investigate the challenges that face administrative units of the churches today. Prerequisite: EN 102

This course develops a working foundation of the basic concepts of managing a project that includes initiating, planning, scheduling, executing, monitoring and controlling, resource budgeting, performance measurement assessments, and efficient follow-through required for the successful completion of a project. Students are introduced to the fundamentals of the ten project management knowledge areas: 1) integration, 2) scope, 3) time, 4) cost, 5) quality, 6) human resources, 7) communications, 8) risk, 9) procurement, and 10) stakeholder management. Prerequisite: EN 102

This course explains the foundational concepts, along with contemporary issues, involved in human resources in a ministry environment. From practical to organizational, students will be taught how to navigate through policies, placement, and promotion of Christian laborers. Prerequisite: EN 102

This capstone course is designed to help students take the business principles and combine these with a ministry heart. Prerequisite: EN 102

Strategic planning is an expect of stewarding leadership opportunities that significantly effects the outcome of any church or organization. This course explores the process of developing effective goals, creating a strategic plan, communicating that plan to an organization, and managing the ongoing deployment of that plan. Students will learn how to conduct SWOT analyses, identify and aggregate relevant data, foster multi-tier implementation, and market a strategic plan. Prerequisite: EN 102

This course introduces students to modern theories of learning, including an examination of the learner, the didactic process, student evaluation, and the teacher-student relationship in the school environment. Prerequisite: EN 501

This course analyzes different teaching methods. Students are introduced to teacher-centered methods (direct instruction), learner-centered methods (indirect instruction), and online teaching methods. Prerequisite: EN 501

This course will introduce students to problems related to classroom management, student motivation, and discipline. Prerequisite: EN 501

This course is designed to enable teachers to form skills in teaching students who deviate from the norm in physical, emotional, intellectual, social, or communication abilities. Prerequisite: EN 501

This course offers an analysis of administrative behavior and organizational patterns within Christian education. Basic factors and fundamentals for successful administrations will be examined. Prerequisite: EN 501

This course studies the intricacies of proper testing and measurement of a student’s progress throughout their education. Effective testing, balanced evaluations, and principles for measurement are all studied in this course. Prerequisite: EN 501

This course is designed to introduce the master’s student to the subject of philosophy and how it relates to Christian education. The course will compare some of the philosophies used by the world in education and how the Bible either defends or condemns the use of such. The student will learn how to build a biblical philosophy of teaching and ministry focused on reaching students through Christian education and developing them in their spiritual maturity for God. Prerequisite: EN 501

Each student pursuing a master’s degree with a concentration in Christian Education must write a 10,000 word thesis on a practical area of Christian ministry within the local church. The thesis may be in a format that can be used as a manual for a specific area of ministry either in a church or Christian school. The thesis will evidence academic research and proper formatting. Prerequisite: EN 501

Introduction to Church Planting will help the student achieve a general overview of the work of local New Testament church planting principles and philosophy. Topics include the model, mandate, motives, mindset, ministry, mentoring, and multiplication of local New Testament Churches. Men only. Prerequisite: None

This course is required for all students in the undergraduate program and will teach them some of the basic concepts and tools of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. A fee of $30 will be charged at the time of registration for this course. Prerequisite: None
